Our painting department utilizes a number of different techniques in their
restoration. Since every painting is unique in both composition and
condition, each piece is evaluated individually to determine the extent of
the damage and to formulate an appropriate solution. One of the most
commonly asked questions is "How will the restoration of my artwork effect
the value?" By Webster's definition, to restore is "to bring back to, or put
back into, the former or original state." True restoration is not changing or
improving on the original, but bringing the artwork back to the condition and
color the artist originally intended.
